The story of Sunday in Russia

Fun fact about Sunday…

800 or so years ago the Russian language was created. When they chose to name what we call Sunday, they chose the word Voskresen’ye.

Voskresen’ye is based on the word voskresheniye, which is the Russian word for RESSURECTION!

For 1200 years prior to that people of that region celebrated the Resurrection once a week and embodied that in their choice for naming that day of the week.
