Jewelry is a an important part of life for many people.  Mostly women, but we know there are some men out there that like to wear the right piece of jewelry as well.  Right around the time that I met my wife, a short 11 years ago, I was still fairly new to the Silicon Valley.  I asked a co-worker of mine if she knew of a good jewelry shop in the San Jose area.  She quickly recommended and started raving about Vardy’s Jewelers and European Goldsmiths in Cupertino, CA.

I decided to head over there after work and see what they had.  At the time I was only looking to spend a few hundred dollars to get my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) a nice piece of jewelry.  Despite the fact that I was there with only a few hundred dollars in my pocket they treated me like I was going to buy thousands of dollars worth.  Fanya worked with me to find the perfect set of earrings within my budget.

Remembering that experience I returned to Vardy’s a few years later to start investigating engagement rings.  Yep, it was time to propose!  My experience with Vardy’s got even better!  I started talking with Fanya again and she introduced me to her brother Misha and father Vardy.   The three of them helped me come up with a great idea on what type of ring to buy.  You see, I didn’t have a clue what my wife wanted in terms of design.  I knew she wanted a princess cut diamond, but that was as far as it went.

Since Vardy and Misha are amazing goldsmiths, we came up with the idea that I should start off with buying  just the diamond and a very basic setting.  I then would bring my fiance back to the store to design a ring around her diamond and her preferences.  She loved it!

She had a great time working with the staff at Vardy’s and today she has a one-of-a-kind ring that is perfect for her.

Now, the only place I go for jewelry is Vardy’s.  Last time I was in there I got a cool lesson in casting from Misha and Vardy.  It’s great that in this day and age of large corporate stores that you can find a great family run business that knows the meaning of great customer service and great value!
